These images were commissioned by Moreland City Council's Strategic Planning Department. They illustrate a vision for development of a local commercial district by the year 2020. It was requested that the style be relaxed and "non-corporate" so as to communicate better with the average person on the street. At an allowance of 20hrs per image, they were loosely based on an assortment photos and a 3D model of the neighbourhood provided by the client featuring each building's volume as a simplistic box. A rough black and white sketch was submitted for approval prior to working each up completely freehand and adding stylised plantings from digital clip art. More and less complex images can be seen under the heading Architectural.

It was up to me to provide each new building's facade design, render many existing historical buildings in a restored state, interpret vehicular traffic scenarios and convey appropriate levels of pedestrian life. There was much emphasis placed on showing reduced car reliance whilst maintaining their presence, high solar access despite increased building density, active private outdoor spaces with connections to the street, and plant life on and between buildings.
